Biography of Rev. Fr. Arsen Kassabian
Reverend Father Arsen Kassabian, with the baptismal name Boghos Kassabian, was born in Beirut, Lebanon; he was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jean and Verjin Kassabian. He received his primary education in the Bird’s Nest School of Jbeil, Lebanon. After graduating in 1982 he was admitted into Armenian Theological Seminary of the Catholicosate of Cicilia in Antelias, Lebanon. In 1986 His Eminence Bishop Vartan Demirjian ordained him Deacon. He graduated from the Seminary in 1989.
He returned to the Seminary in 1998 and enlisted in special classes of priesthood and upon completion he was consecrated priest by His Eminence Archbishop Zareh Aznavorian, renaming him Rev. Fr. Arsen. He was invited by His Eminence Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan, Prelate of Eastern Prelacy of the ARmenian Apostolic Church of AMerica to serve in that region.
New Journey to the U.S.
He arrived in the U.S. on January, 2001 and for six years, he served as Pastor, first at Holy Cross in Troy, New York and then at St. Hagop Church in Racine, Wisconsin.
Relocated back to Lebanon
In 2006 he relocated back to Lebanon where he served as Pastor at Forty Martyrs Church in Bourj Hammoud. From 2008-2013 he was a Religious Council Member in Lebanon.
2013 - Present
In November of 2013, His Eminence Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate of Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America appointed Rev. Fr. Arsen Kassabian to serve as Parish Pastor at St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Rev. Fr. Arsen Kassabian is married to Jamile Shahin and they have three sons, Raffi, Vicken, and Sevag, all three of whom are acolytes.
